Apply to Become an AHIMA Fellow
The AHIMA Fellowship Program (FAHIMA) is a program
of earned recognition for Active, Premier, Honorary, Emeritus,
and Global/Outside US (oUS) AHIMA members who have
made significant and sustained contributions to the profession.
A Fellowship Eligibility Tracking Tool is posted on the AHIMA
website to assist you in determining your eligibility for candidacy
or Fellowship status. There is now a requirement to have at least
one CCHIIM credential in good standing to be eligible. The next
application deadline is February 22. E-mail volunteer.services@
ahima.org to request the online application link.
Volunteer and Take the Next Step in Leadership
If you are interested in being considered for a 2020 elected
volunteer position, view our infographic to learn how to become
an AHIMA volunteer. Elected positions include the AHIMA
Board President/Chair-elect, AHIMA Board Director, House
of Delegates Speaker-elect, CCHIIM Commissioner, and CEE
Council Member. Find more information about these positions
on the AHIMA website, under the Elected Positions tab. Then
review the descriptions of available volunteer positions on the
Engage Volunteer Center. Applications for elected positions are
due March 31. A webinar to discuss these elected roles will be

Nominations for the AHIMA Triumph Awards
are being accepted until June 3. It’s a great
honor to be nominated for and receive
one of these prestigious awards. These
awards honor the excellence, dedication,
and service of those professionals whose
steadfast efforts have demonstrated
extraordinary leadership, volunteerism,
and talent in the HIM field. The 2019
AHIMA Triumph Awards will be presented
at AHIMA’s Health Data and Information
Conference in Chicago this September. Learn about award

New Interim Executive Director
Keith D. Terry, CHPC, MBA, is the
interim Executive Director of the AHIMA
Foundation. Terry has over 25 years of rich
and varied global healthcare experience.
He is passionate about fundraising and
has helped organizations, associations,
governments, companies, and individuals
achieve outstanding results. Terry is
passionate about achieving business objectives,

Clinical Coding Workout, 2019 challenges
